When Julie came along, Kate finally gained a sister...from Long Island, who (along with her brothers) taught her how to hide Franzia in the wardrobe on family vacation, and how to deal with the subsequent hangover.

Ari and Kate were so cool in high school that they would frequently spend Friday nights driving around town listening to Emo music after an evening shift at the skating rink, where they somehow managed to “overcook” (and consume) as many Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and mozzarella sticks as they had sold at the snack shack.
Caitlin and Kate were college roommates who shared a love for the finer things in life, like blue raspberry Four Loko and trips to Atlantic City. Kate is grateful their friendship is still intact today despite the “pasta incident” which resulted in Caitlin's leftover homemade penne vodka all over Kate’s sheets (she needed a cheat meal, at 2am).
Kate has a lot in common with her soon-to-be sister Becky, including their birthday (2/15), husbands that look a lot alike, a propensity for shooting the shit, and soon they’ll share a last name too.
